New Members & Eligibility

New members must play in 3 Marston Society Golf meetings before becoming eligible for overall 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or front/back nine prizes.

Only current paid‑up members can win these prizes.

Nearest‑the‑pin prizes are open to all.

New members’ handicaps are based on their first 3 competition results or club handicap.

Members may request a handicap reduction at any time.

Prize rules: A member may only win one prize per meeting.

Marston Standard Stableford Score (MSSS)
0–7%: MSSS 33
8–11%: MSSS 34
12–16%: MSSS 35
16–32%: MSSS 36
33–50%: MSSS 37
51–80%: MSSS 38
81%+: MSSS 39
Winner – £30
Cut: 10% of handicap + 0.3 per point above MSSS (max 5.0)

2nd Place – £20
Cut: 5% of handicap

3rd Place – £10
No cut.

Front & Back Nine Winners – £10 each
No cut. Cannot also win 1st/2nd/3rd.

Ties: Last 9 → last 6 → last 3 → last hole → tie.

Other Handicap Adjustments

0.1 added for every point under MSSS (max 0.8).

Player of the Year (POTY)

Best 6 stableford scores count over the season.

Ties are shared.

Members of Host Golf Club

Fee: £25 including meals. This can be reduced or increased depending on the venue pricing.

No‑Shows & Late Withdrawal

Players may be charged if withdrawing after numbers are confirmed unless the club waives fees.
